Another year at The Spark Project means that another group of changemakers have launched their projects to make a positive impact. Our team is extremely grateful to be able to play a small role in helping both individuals and organizations spark their projects to life.
In 2021, we were able to help spark a diverse range of projects, from social enterprises in the fashion industry, to books about poetry, to inspiring films that transcended the ordinary – it was an adventure that we were more than happy to be a part of. With the pandemic still affecting both people and organizations in the creative and changemaking space, we wanted to make sure that The Spark Project could become a nurturing space for people to freely pursue their passions. We made sure to provide guidance and resources throughout the crowdfunding process to increase the chances of success and motivation for our project creators.
In the early months of 2021, we launched a workshop called Spark It, that aimed to teach aspiring project creators the ins and outs of crowdfunding, and to provide a welcoming space to share their ideas and hopes for their projects.
Along with the workshop came the launch of our new and improved website, as well as resources for creators. This marked the beginning of a better crowdfunding experience for everyone in our growing community of creators. The Spark Project will continue on to craft a crowdfunding experience that is both engaging and educational for the creative and conscious.
Through the campaigns run in 2021, The Spark Project was able to help raise over 1 million pesos of funds that were used to fuel the creative and conscious endeavors of our different project creators. Through our community, we were able to reach and receive pledges from over 600 backers – both old and new to the Spark network.
As we like to remind our project creators, crowdfunding is not just about raising funds – and while it is extremely gratifying to be able to say that we have helped raise money for these different projects, it is equally important to recognize the impact that these changemakers have in the communities that they work in and for. From representing minority groups, to supporting local artisans, to providing the needy with hot meals, to advocating for the mental wellness of different groups – we have been lucky to work with changemakers with a strong sense of purpose to change the lives of others for the better. To say that these projects have made a difference in the lives of real people in the best way is a statement that warms our hearts. The positive impact that we are able to help create is what keeps us going at The Spark Project, and we hope that you continue along with us on this journey. Here’s to sparking more in 2022!
